Biography
Dr. Julian Eaton-Rye is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Otago School of Biomedical Sciences , New Zealand. His research interests includes Photosynthesis. He is serving as an editorial member and reviewer of several international reputed journals. Dr. Julian Eaton-Rye is the member of many international affiliations. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities. He has authored of many research articles/books related to Photosynthesis.
Research Interest
Dr. Julian Eaton-Rye's laboratory concentrates on structure-function studies of Photosystem II in plants and cyanobacteria. Currently they are working on protein-protein interactions that facilitate sustained water-splitting activity by Photosystem II in response to changing environmental conditions such as fluctuating light levels, temperature and pH. They are also interested in protein factors that are required for the assembly of Photosystem II. Since the sun provides more energy in 1 hour than our entire global energy consumption in 1 year, they are also working on metabolic engineering to couple the harvesting of light by photosynthetic protein complexes to the efficient production of biofuels in cyanobacteria.
