Biography
Dr. Rachel is a postdoctoral research fellow working with Dr Louise-Parr-Bronwlie characterising the GABAergic synapses from the substantia nigra to the ventral anterior thalamus using lentiviral vectors, immunohistochemitry and electron microscopy in healthy and Parkinsonian brains. Her particular interests lie in investigating the structure and function of neural circuits in normal and diseased brains, with emphasis on immunocytochemistry and ultrastructural mapping techniques. Rachel is a member of Te Poutama and is a member on the OSMS Maori Strategic Framework committee.
