Research Interest
Currently research active investigating the role of the Epithelial Sodium Channel (ENaC) as a potential 'new player' in the regulation of vascular tone and flow-mediated responses. Shear-sensation by ENaC is dependent on the interaction with the glycocalyx. Our research is investigating the molecular aspects of ENaC-matrix action and the functional role of vascular ENaC under both normal and pathophysiological (diabetes and hypertension) states.
