Biography
Bridget studied law and psychology at the University of Otago, and completed her PhD in psychology in 2016. Bridget has a strong interest in applied research; she has focused on investigating ways the lessons from the social sciences can be harnessed to benefit the legal profession. The aim of her PhD research, for example, was to investigate the circumstances under which a brief ‘preparation for court’ intervention could be utilised to help children accurately respond to cross-examination questions in the courtroom.
Research Interest
Bridget is passionate about working in interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to large-scale research projects. Bridget’s research interests include access to justice, courtroom procedures, quality of legal evidence, and legal decision-making processes.
