Biography
Dr Julia N. Albrecht has joined the Department of Tourism as a Senior Lecturer in April 2015. Before that she was a Senior Lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington. Julia is the course coordinator for TOUR305 Tourism Product Development, and she teaches on TOUR101 Introduction to Tourism. With her academic background in geography and landscape ecology, political studies, and tourism, Julia is interested in sustainable aspects of tourism, tourism strategy and planning, visitor management and stakeholder relationships in tourism. Much of her recent research concerns visitor management, nature-based attractions we well as tourism in winegrowing regions. Julia’s work has been published in leading academic journals such as Journal of Sustainable Tourism and Annals of Tourism Research. Julia has been serving as a committee member of BEST.EN (Building Excellence in Sustainable Tourism) since 2012. She is an editor of Pacific Geographies, and has recently joined the Editorial Board of the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research.
