Biography
Kyoko Niimi is a Honorary Senior Research Fellow in Department of Oral Sciences at University of Otago, New Zealand. Dr Niimi's research interests are in molecular microbiology, particularly in mycology research and the development of drug efflux pump inhibitors. Her three main areas of research expertise are the molecular biology of human fungal pathogens Candida albicans and Candida glabrata, the mechanisms of antifungal drug resistance, and heterologous protein expression in baker's yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
