Biography
Dr. Li Mei obtained his PhD from University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He is presently working as a Senior Lecturer in University of Otago, New Zealand. He is having several Research Grants and has been acting as the Editorial Board Member of several reputed journals.
Research Interest
• Bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation: mechanisms, side effects, and prevention of bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation in orthodontics and dentistry. • Antimicrobial materials: to modify dental materials to create antimicrobial surfaces. • Orthodontic RCTs: randomly controlled clinical trials during orthodontic treatments. • Enamel demineralization and remineralization: prevention of enamel demineralization and promotion of enamel remineralization. • Oral hygiene: influence factors and preventive measures for enhancing oral hygiene. • Atomic force microscopy: to image the surfaces and to measure the interaction forces between bacteria and cells or the forces between bacteria/cells to the surfaces.
