Biography
Prior to joining the Faculty in 2012, Marcelo completed his Master of Laws at the University of Toronto, focusing on the Supreme Court of Canada's approach to deference in judicial review. He was a judges' clerk at the High Court of New Zealand at Wellington and practiced as a solicitor at Chapman Tripp in Wellington. He currently teaches Public Law, the Law of Torts and Animals and the Law, and also administers the Advocacy Skills programme.
Research Interest
Marcelo's research interests include administrative law, legal theory and the status of animals within the law.
