Biography
Simon worked for the Accident Compensation Corporation for 6 years, in Dunedin and then Wellington. He returned to the University of Otago in 2010 as a postgraduate student and completed a Master of Laws by thesis on the influence of New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme on the civil and criminal law. In 2011 Simon then commenced his PhD research, also at Otago, on the implications that the modern approach to contract interpretation has for other areas of contract law.
Research Interest
Simon’s primary research interests are Contract Law and Tort Law, both of which he teaches. He is also interested in law of obligations theory and compensation in the criminal law.
