Biography

Mrs. Olufunmilayo Odediran is a dynamic and articulate strategist who is self-motivated, innovative and result oriented and was born in 1962 in Lagos state. She started her education at the St. Patrick primary school, Idumagbo, Lagos and had her secondary school education at Ansar-Ud-Deen college, Isolo. before proceeding to the Federal College of Arts and Sciences. Victoria Island, Lagos. She obtained an Ordinary National Diploma in General Agriculture from the Lagos State College of Science and Technology and went on to bag a Higher Diploma Degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension from the Lagos State Polytechnic. She further went on to obtain a Master’s in Business Administration focusing on Financial Management and Marketing from University of Ado-Ekiti. She also bagged a Postgraduate Diploma with distinction and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, both from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. She is currently pursuing a PhD programme at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State with specialization in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development. Olufunmilayo started her work experience with the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi. She also worked at the Bank of Commerce and Industry. She functioned as both an Agriculture and an Economics teacher at the Government Day Secondary School, Minna, Niger state where she had her NYSC. She later went back to the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi as a Higher Technical Officer and rose through the ranks to become a Deputy Director. She was the past immediate Head of the Promotion and Extension section where her roles included organisation and coordination of Technology Transfer training workshops, exhibition and promotion of FIIRO technologies, attendance and organisation of trade fairs, extension services on technological based skills and building of working relationships with both Governmental and Non-Governmental Organisations. This has put her in good stead to have hands on experience in performing requisite tasks and work with other employees to achieve results for the Institute. She is now the current Deputy Director in charge of the Partnership and Zonal offices coordination Division of the Institute. She has attended several short courses on Technology transfer, Management, Marketing, Needs assessment, Research methodology, Project monitoring, Report writing and Quality systems management. Olufunmilayo is a member of various professional bodies both within and outside Nigeria: -    Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria -    Institute of Entrepreneurs, Nigeria -    Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria -    African Association of Agricultural Economists -    International Association of Agricultural Economists -    International Vocational Education and Training Association Olufunmilayo has co-edited and co-compiled three (3) books and over twenty-five (25) training manuals on technology transfer. She has also prepared over twenty (20) Techno-economics feasibilty reports and documents. She has also contributed to book chapters and has five (5) local and international publication articles and about twelve (12) conference and seminar papers. Olufunmilayo is not just a career oriented woman, she is also focused on her family and she has been happily married for about twenty-nine years with three children as products of this union. Olufunmilayo is also actively involved in church activities and she alongside her husband pastor a church in Lagos. She believes in children and youth foundational building, remoulding and mentoring and currently heads a ministry that is focused solely on that.
