Biography
Dr Stewart is a specialist in Environmental Law and Ethics. Her core areas are in fostering ecological integrity including biodiversity conservation, environmental policy and regulation, coastal management, sustainability issues in aviation, food security and climate change. She has presented a number of papers in her areas of expertise at international environmental law conferences and taught Environmental Law for over ten years at the University of Benin, Nigeria. She has also been a key participant in United Nations working groups on Human Rights and the Environment as well as a member of the Technical Review Committee under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). She is a member of several professional bodies including the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, IUCN Ethics Specialist Committee, Earth Law Alliance and Global Ecological Integrity Group. Prior to joining UNU-INRA, Dr Stewart was a Visiting Faculty Member at Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman.
