Biography
Ogugua Charles Aworh, a Fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology, holds MS and PhD in Food Science and Technology from Cornell University and has been a full professor at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria since 1988. He has published extensively and was at various times visiting research fellow/professor at the University of Leeds, UK, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg, Germany. Head of the Department of Food Technology, University of Ibadan, for three times, he is currently Chairman of the University’s Multidisciplinary Central Research Laboratory. A foremost postgraduate teacher and mentor of young food professionals in West Africa, he is a mentor to the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD). His research areas include post-harvest technology, food biotechnology and food safety. He is currently Chairman of the Body of Fellows and member of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology.
