Biography
Oche Agbaji, MBBS, is a Consultant Physician and Associate Professor of Medicine at Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, in Nigeria where he has been involved with the care of HIV patients since 1997. Dr. Agbaji was Co-principal Principal Investigator, PI, of the AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria, APIN, plus the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, PEPFAR, program with Harvard at JUTH from 2002 to 2009. He was also appointed the Antiretroviral Team, ART, led by the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) of Nigeria for the JUTH ART program in 2004, and has been PI of the PEPFAR transitioned JUTH AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria, APIN, program since 2009. Through his work with the PEPFAR program, he has had the opportunity to collaborate with a number of US and local researchers on HIV related projects and have published widely in the areas of HIV and HIV-related complications.
