Biography
Dr. Austin J. C. Mole holds the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in Library Science, Bachelors Degree in Library Science/History, Degree of Masters in Library and Information Science (MLS), and the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Library and Information Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a chartered librarian and presently a lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science. Dr. Mole has published over 30 scholarly works, including journal articles, contributions to books and a book of reading. He has served as resource person in a number of workshops and has presented over 30 conference papers in both national and international conferences. He is also an editor to a number of journals, including the Global Review of Library and Information Science (GRELIS) and the International Journal of Library and Information Science (INJLIS). Dr. Mole has strong love for librarianship and the teaching profession. In addition to his teaching and supervising duties at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Dr. Mole is the coordinator of the Ph.D Contact Programme of the Department of Library and Information Science, Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Library and Information Science (PGDL), Sandwich Diploma Programme, , and Library Visits and Orientation Programme all in the Department of Library and Information Science. He was the Publicity Secretary of the National Association of Library and Information Science Educators (NALISE) and an active member of Nigerian Library Association (NLA). His areas of specialization and research interest include: organisation of knowledge, public and national library services, African studies and social sciences literature, and ICT in reference and information services.
