Biography
I am a native of Umuabazu Lagwa Okwuato, Aboh Mbaise, Imo State. I attended Government College, Umuahia and graduated from University Nigeria, Nsukka with second Class Honours Upper Division in 1991. I obtained my M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees from the same University. I am a staff of the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, University of Nigeria, where I have risen to the rank of a Senior Lecturer. I specialized in Palynology and Palaeoecology. I belong to a number of professional bodies and have published in both national and international journals.
Research Interest
My areas of research interest include the different disciplines in palynology such as aeropalynology, melissopalynology, palaeovegetation and climatic reconstruction, use of pollen and spore extracts in immunological studies (i.e. allergological studies) and ethnomedicinal research with plants. I am also involved in biodiversity monitoring, ethno-botanical survey, evaluation, identification and collection of medicinal plants and other plant species.
