Obalum Sunday Ewelle

Biography

Born on 5th June, 1977 at Isinyi Nando, Dr. Obalum attended Community Secondary School, Nando and St. Charles Special Science School, Onitsha, both in Anambra State. He obtained his B.Agric. and MSc degrees in September 2004 and August 2009, respectively from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and his PhD degree from Kinki University (Kindai), Japan in March 2013. In May 2007, he joined UNN as Graduate Assistant in the Department of Soil Science, his alma mater, and has been on the rank of Lecturer II since October 2010. His area of interest in Soil Science is Soil Physics and Hydrology. Among other skills, Dr Obalum is a sawah specialist, having been trained in sawah system (a system of efficient water control/management in agricultural watersheds of West Africa) before and during his doctorate programme. He has over 27 scholarly publications and has also attended and presented papers in several prestigious conferences. Currently Dr Obalum enjoys membership of editorial board of two reputable peer-reviewed journals as well as acts as reviewer to many others. He is also an approved supervisor for postgraduate studies in UNN from February 2014.
