Biography
Karen Simon (born 1959) is the deputy chairman of the board of JPMorgan's investment bank. She is leading a global initiative called Director Advisory Services, where she is a key contact for board members of listed companies and JP Morgan. Prior to that, she led JP Morgans Financial Sponsor Coverage Group with advisory services to private equity customers in loan-financed acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions and equity market transactions. Simon has more than 30 years of experience from JP Morgan, including her time in London, where she focused on oil and gas clients and headed the Debt Capital Markets department, as well as the work of private equity customers. As of December 31, 2016, Simon holds no shares in Aker ASA and has no options. She is both British and American citizen. She has been selected for the period 2017-2019.
