Biography
Bernard Looney is the Upstream Chief Executive for BP plc., where he is responsible for exploration, development and production within the Upstream segment. Bernard joined BP in 1991 as a Drilling Engineer. He has extensive leadership experience in the oil and gas business, having worked in a variety of locations, including the North Sea, Vietnam, Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. He was appointed to the role of Chief Executive for BP’s Upstream Segment in February 2016, is a member of the BP Group Executive Committee and is also a director of several BP Group companies. Mr. Looney is an Irish citizen.
