James lorens

Biography

 Prof. James Lorens is Chief Scientific Officer of Bergenbio ASA. He is also Co-Founder of the Company with 26 years academic and biotech research experience. He is Professor of the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Bergen. He completed a post doctorate course at Stanford University on novel library screening technologies, following which he was Founding Scientist and Research Director of Rigel, Inc. He has initiated, authored and managed several scientific collaborations in cancer research and development with various pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. In addition to BerGenBio AS, he manages an international research laboratory comprising 22 researchers. His group is active in biotechnology development, angiogenesis and cancer research. He is an author of over 100 peer-reviewed articles and patents. He serves at Lorn Holding AS (chairman) and Norwegian Research Council, Division of Innovation (board member).
