Bjørn Berntsen

Biography

Bjørn is responsible for managing Faroe Petroleum's production, development and exploration assets in the Norwegian Sea and Njord area. His work experience is within exploration, commercialisation/early phase development, resource management and field development projects in Norway, Denmark and Yemen.   Before joining Faroe in February 2012, Bjørn worked for Det norske oljeselskap as the Asset Manager for Det norske's operated and non-operated licenses in the South Viking Graben area and as a Subsurface Manager in the Ivar Aasen Field Development Project from discovery to concept selection. 

Research Interest

Bjørn graduated in 1991 from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim with an M.Sc in Petroleum Engineering. He then worked as a Petroleum Engineer for 11 years with chalk field developments in the North Sea for Amoco and Amerada Hess. The following six years he worked as a Reservoir Engineer for Endeavour and DNO International.
