Birger Magnus

Biography

Mr. Birger Magnus serves as a Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Schibsted ASA. Mr. Magnus served as an Executive Vice President of Norway & Group Development at Schibsted ASA until February 15, 2010. He served as an Executive Vice President of Newspapers of Schibsted ASA. He served as an Executive Vice President of Norway Operations of Schibsted ASA since January 2006. From 1985 to 1995, he was a Partner, Principal and Location Manager for Norwayin McKinsey & Co. and served as the Managing Partner of the Oslo office in the latter part of this period as well as one of the leading partners in McKinsey's international multimedia practice (telecomm. information technology, media). From 1982 to 1984, Mr. Magnus served as General Manager of Magnus Data AS. From 1980 to 1982, he served as System Consultant for Honeywell Bull AS. He served as Consultant of McKinsey & Company from 1985 to 1996. His professional background includes experience as a Systems Engineer and ran his own information technology business from 1980 to 1984. Mr. Magnus served as the Chairman of the Board at Storebrand ASA at Storebrand Livsforsikring AS from June 22, 2009 to 2017. He serves as the Chairman of Verdens Gang AS. He serves as the Chairman of Hafslund ASA, Aftonbladet Hierta AB, Handelsbolaget Svenska Dagbladets AB & Co and 20 Min Holding AG. He served as the Chairman of Statoil Fuel & Retail ASA and also served as its Director since October 22, 2010. He served as Chairman and Director of Media Norge ASA and Schibsted Norge ASA. He served as the Chairman and Director of Aftenposten and VG at Schibsted ASA since January 2006. He serves as a Director at Hafslund ASA. Mr. Magnus served as a Director of Storebrand ASA from June 22, 2009 to April 5, 2017. He served as a Director of SAS AB since March 21, 2013 until 2016. He served as a Director of Media Norge ASA. He served as a Director of Aftenposten and VG of SchibstedASA since January 2006. He served as a Director of Nera ASA since June 1998. Mr. Magnus holds a Master of Science degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and holds an MBA from INSEAD (France).
