Biography

Dr. William H. Joyce, Ph.D., has been Senior Advisor to the Board & Consultant at A. Schulman, Inc. since September 8, 2017. Dr. Joyce serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Fusion Systems LLC. Dr. Joyce served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nalco Holding Co., holding company of Keystone Nano, Inc. from November 2003 to December 20, 2007. Dr. Joyce served as the Chairman of Hercules Incorporated from June 2001 to November 2003 and as its Chief Executive Officer from May 2001 to November 2003. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Nalco Finance Holdings LLC since November 2003. He served as Chairman of Nalco Holdings LLC from November 2003 to December 2007 and its Chief Executive Officer since November 2003. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Union Carbide Corporation from April 1995 to December 1995 and again from 1996 to May 2001 and as its President from 1993 to December 1995 and again from 1996 to May 2001. He served as the President of the Silicones and Urethane Intermediates Division at Union Carbide since 1982 and as President of its Polyolefins Division since 1985. From 1993 to April 1995, Dr. Joyce served as the Chief Operating Officer of Union Carbide Corp., and served as its Executive Vice President in Charge of operations since 1992 and Vice President since 1990. He joined the Chemicals and Plastics Division of Union Carbide in 1957 and was associated primarily with its chemicals and plastics business throughout his career. He served as Chairman of the Board and Director of NALCO. He served as the Chairman of Society of Plastics Industry. He served as the Chairman of Union Carbide Corporation. from 1996 to May 2001 and Nalco Finance Holdings LLC from November 2003 to December 20, 2007. Dr. Joyce served as the Vice Chairman of The Dow Chemical Company. He has been a Director of CVS Corp. since 1994, Reynolds Metals Company since 1995 and Celanese Emulsions Gmbh since December 2004. He serves as a Director of Nalco Finance Holdings LLC and Momentive Performance Materials Inc. He served as a Director at Union Carbide Corp. since 1992. He serves as a Member of Board of Managers at Hexion Holdings LLC. He serves as a Trustee of the Universities Research Association Inc. He served as a Director of CVS Caremark Corporation from April 1994 to May 11, 2011.
