Biography
Michael Hamar was appointed to the Breast Cancer Trials Board of Directors in March 2011 and is the the Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. Mr Hamar is a consultant in the field of risk management and banking. His expertise is in the fields of finance, risk management and corporate governance. He retired in 2009 from the National Australia Bank,

where he was a member of the Group Executive Committee and Group Chief Risk Officer. Prior to that, Mr Hamar had a 35-year career in banking and finance, including positions with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America. He worked in Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia. He holds Masters degrees from Cambridge University and the University of Chicago.
