Biography

Mr. John R. McLernon is a Co-Founder of Colliers Macaulay Nicolls (formerly, Colliers International Group) and serves as its Honorary Chair. Mr. McLernon served as Chief Executive Officer of Colliers International from 1977 to 2002 and it’s Chairman from 1985 to 2004. Over two decades Mr. Mclernon has guided Colliers through some 50 acquisitions, mergers and startups in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. He started his career with the Canadian Pacific as a financial analyst before moving to its property development company, Marathon Realty, in 1967. Mr. Mclernon serves as Chairman of A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund and Village Farms International, Inc. He has been the Chairman of the Board at City Office Reit, Inc. since February 1, 2016. He served as Chairman of The Board of Directors - City Office Real Estate Management Inc,- former Advisor of City Office Reit, Inc. from April 2014 to February 1, 2016. He serves as Chairman of Streetohome Foundation. He also serves as Regional Chairman of Portage Canada. Mr. Mclernon served as Chairman of BC Rail from 2001 to 2010 and BC Lottery Company from 2006 to 2013. He has been Director at Village Farms International, Inc. since January 18, 2005. He is a Director of Canadian Urban Limited and Mission Hill Family Estate. He serves as Director and Advisor to many private companies and non profit organizations. Mr. Mclernon attended Bishops College School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University.
