Biography
Dr. Bang, Professor of Medical Oncology, is the President of Biomedical Research Institute and Director of Clinical Trials Center of Seoul National University Hospital. He graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1979. He is certified in the specialties of internal medicine and hematology/medical oncology. He has been working for Seoul National University College of Medicine since 1986. He was Director of Cancer Research Institute of Seoul National University from 2000 to 2006. He was the President of the Korean Cancer Study Group from 2006 to 2008, the Chairman of the Korean Association for Clinical Oncology from 2008 to 2010, Dr. Bang, Professor of Medical Oncology, is the President of Biomedical Research Institute and Director of Clinical Trials Center of Seoul National University Hospital. He graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1979. He is certified in the specialties of internal medicine and hematology/medical oncology. He has been working for Seoul National University College of Medicine since 1986. He was Director of Cancer Research Institute of Seoul National University from 2000 to 2006. He was the President of the Korean Cancer Study Group from 2006 to 2008, the Chairman of the Korean Association for Clinical Oncology from 2008 to 2010,
Research Interest
Korean National Enterprise for Clinical Trials from 2009 to 2104, the Chairman of Department of Internal Medicine of Seoul National University College of Medicine from 2010 to 2014, and the Chairman of the Korean Cancer Association from 2012 to 2014. Dr. Bang has co-authored more than 350 papers in SCI-indexed international journals including New England Journal of Medicine and Lancet. He is primarily interested in the development of new anticancer therapeutics, both clinical and translational, especially in gastric cancer. He is the Principal Investigator of a number of international clinical trials including ToGA study, CLASSIC study, SHINE study, and GOLD study.
