Biography
Shahid Naqvi is a senior member of The Abraaj Group’s Investor Engagement team with specific responsibility for the firm’s engagement in the UK and China and Korea. Mr. Naqvi has over 20 years of experience gained across the financial services sector and has operated in both the developed as well as growth markets. Before joining The Abraaj Group, he was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking team at Fairfax plc (the UK advisory firm) and set up its MENA business. Prior to his time at Fairfax, he was a Director in the corporate finance group at Deutsche Bank in London and also worked at Daiwa Securities and Singer & Friedlander. Mr. Naqvi is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and trained at KPMG. He also serves as an advisor to the Global Strategic Advisory Center in Korea, a think tank set up by the Korean Government to advise and assist the growth of the SME sector in Korea.
