Arne Johan Norheim

Biography

"Arne Johan Norheim is an educated nurse (1986) and an educated doctor at the University of Tromsø in 1996. He is a specialist in general medicine and approved aerospace, diving doctor, offshore and seaman physician. He started in 2010 the Vitaliskliniken in Harstad, which is an interdisciplinary private health center ( www.vitalisklinikken.no ). He is a departmental physician in the sanitary sanitation in Harstad / Ramsund. He is a graduated acupuncturer from the Swedish Acupuncture School in Malmö in 1987, in addition to having an education from the Norwegian Acupuncture School in Oslo in the period 1987-1990. In addition, he has completed an education at Beijing International Acupuncture College in China in 1988. He started his research in acupuncture in 1992 at the Department of Social Medicine at the University of Tromsø, and has conducted research on effect in acupuncture, multiple posture studies, and knowledge summaries in acupuncture and alternative treatment. He also has one year's research stay at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. In January 2005, Arne Johan Norheim addressed the Dr Philos degree at NAFKAM with the dissertation: ""Acupuncture in health care - attitudes two, and experience with acupuncture in Norway"". He has been the research director for several projects at NAFKAM and in the Armed Forces, the supervisor for several masters and PhD candidates and held academic posts at a number of national and international conferences. For a number of years he has been involved in teaching of medical students and at several colleges and is widely used as lecturer at courses and seminars for health professionals, researchers, patients and health policy players."
