Biography
Born 1947. Associated with Univ. In Tromsø since 1976. Dr. philos. Tromsø 1991. Professor at the Sámi Ethnographic Department, Tromsø Museum / IMV 1991-1992. Employed in current position from 1993. Professor II in older Sami cultural history at the Middle Ages Center, University of Oslo 1994-2002.
Research Interest
"Economic and social history of the Middle Ages and early New Year, including in particular: - Principles of transfer of property between the Middle Ages and early New Age. - The focus is on strategies that were appealed to inheritance, concessions and testaments, in the intersection between family, family and legislative authorities such as state and church:Law history, canonical right.Rights related to exploitation of common resources (public and private).Sami history, culture and justice: - Sami rights to land and water in historical perspective;Social and economic networks of the Northern Calotte in old age, inter-ethnic relations and interaction"
