Biography
Dr. Jostein Kjærandsen is currently working as a Associate Professor in the Department of Natural Sciences, University of Tromso , Norway. His research interests includes His research interest is to study patterns of insect diversity in a taxonomic and biosystematic framework. He further interested in the functional evolution of their various organs such as genitalia and wings and how they are used in mating-systems and for species recognition. His research is contributing to build a taxonomic knowledge base of the Holarctic fauna of fungus gnats (Diptera, Sciaroidea). With some 1000 Nordic species fungus gnats play an important role in the ecosystem of the boreal taiga.He is serving as an editorial member and reviewer of several international reputed journals. Dr. Jostein Kjærandsen is the member of many international affiliations. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities.
