Biography
Born 1963 in Tromsø, stud. German, Nordic and Social Anthropology in Tromsø and Oslo. Cand mag. by UiO 1988, cand.philol. and practical-pedagogical exam at UiT 1992, Dr. Art. 2005 (UiT). Lecturer in high school 1993-1997, taught in German literature, German cultural knowledge and practical German at the University of Oslo from 1997. NFR fellow 2001-2005, postdoctoral at the Arctic Discourses project from V-08 to V-09. Head of Department Institute for Culture and Literature (IKL) 1.8.2009-31.7.2013. Prodecani education from 1.8.2013.

The reception of the Norwegian Constitution in German-speaking Context (19th century Theodor Mügge), Cosmopolitanism in Norwegian fin de siècle, 19th century travel records, Austrian literature (1900s, Leopold Andrian, Elfriede Jelinek), Dilettant culture, literary battle in the 1700s
