Biography
Dr. Bashir Ahmad Fida has more than ten years of experience in teaching, counseling and research related activities. He earned his Master’s and MPhil degrees from reputed universities of Pakistan, International Islamic University and Quaid-i-Azam University, respectively. He was awarded foreign study scholarship by the Ministry of Education to pursue his doctoral degree at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, a world-renowned research university which ranks among the world’s top 200 universities in Economics and Econometrics. Dr. Bashir joined MCBS in January 2013 and currently he is the coordinator of the Master’s program in Islamic Banking and Finance (MIBF), the first and only Master’s degree program in Oman. He also holds the additional responsibility of Program Coordinator for a B.A in Economics. He has more than 20 publications to his credit and his research papers have been published in reputed impact factor journals. Subjects taught/currently teaching: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, Oman and AGCC Economy, Islamic Banking, Islamic Economics, Business Statistics, International Economics and Development Economics Dr Bashir’s research & work areas of interest include: Islamic Economics, International Economics & Finance and Applied Econometrics Dr. Bashir Ahmad Fida has more than ten years of experience in teaching, counseling and research related activities.
