Biography
Mr Raihan Taqui Syed’s goals of becoming a researcher and teacher in the areas of Management have evolved because of his varied professional experiences spanning across Management consulting, teaching & research and diverse scholastic degree programs pursued under Indian, European & Australian educational systems. Mr Raihan joined MCBS in 2016 as a Lecturer in The Department of Business & Economics. He has over 4 years of consulting experience in the areas of Organizational Development & Human Resource Management, primarily in manufacturing firms & educational institutions. He has 3 years of teaching experience at university level having taught MBA courses to students comprised of over 10 nationalities. He has been associated with many other organizations in India and abroad as a faculty, consultant, rrainer and researcher. Mr Raihan graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from one of the oldest and reputed engineering colleges, ranking among Top 10 colleges in Karnataka, India and was among top 10% of his cohort securing First Class with Distinction in the degree program. In 2007, he was one among three Asians and the only aspirant from India to be selected by the European Union funded, prestigious ‘Erasmus Mundus scholarship’ program and was awarded forty-two thousand Euros to pursue his Masters Eramus Mundus degree in Spain & Norway. The areas of primary focus during the masters degree program were Education Management, Organizational Studies & Human Resource Management. In 2009, he was selected by James Cook University which ranks among the Top 20 universities in Australia to carry out his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program, specializing in Human Resource Management. He received ‘High Performing Student’ award by the university for his academic excellence. Mr Raihan has studied, conducted research and worked in 5 culturally different countries and has travelled to over 20 countries in Africa, Europe, Middle East and South Asia. He has numerous publications to his credit in international and national journals of repute. He has presented several academic papers in international ∓ national conferences and has participated in over 10 workshops and conferences held in Asia and Europe.
