Biography
Saleh Al-Shaibany holds MSc in Communication Systems Engineering from the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom. He worked 14 years at Muscat International Airport as Air Navigational Engineer rising to the rank of Head of Technical Control. He was a member of the Steering Committee for Planning and Design of Oman’s new airports in the Ministry of Transport & Communications where he was responsible for formulating the structure of Air Traffic Management and Route Planning. He left the airport to teach at Caledonian College of Engineering for two years, Muscat College for two years and College of Banking & Financial Studies for two years. On top of his professional pursuits, he concurrently worked as a Free Lance Journalist for Reuters International News Agency for 12 years, had a social column in Dubai’s Khaleej Times for 12 years, a column in Oman Observer for 5 years. Currently, he writes two weekly columns for Times of Oman in socio-economy and human elements. He joined MCBS in 2011 and helped to establish Airport and Aviation Management Degree Programs and subsequently promoted as the Head in January 2013. He is now the Head of BTEC Studies at MCBS.
