Russ Helms

Biography

As Chief Executive Officer of Rho, Russ Helms oversees Rho’s Federal market and technology work. Along with his co-CEO, Laura Helms Reece, Russ sets the strategic vision for the company that is consistent with Rho’s Core Values and lays the groundwork for a strong future. Russ worked at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences under a research fellowship while earning his master's and doctoral degrees in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following graduation, Russ went to work for Rho. With a passion for technology and innovation, Russ has championed a number of initiatives to increase employee engagement and improve customer service. Several of these initiatives include a “Pay Yourself First” program to educate and encourage employees to live healthier lifestyles, an employee book club, and working to create a career path system for the company. After receiving a recent CRO Leadership Award, Russ stated, “At Rho, we believe that if we are successful, it's because we're agile. We react quickly to change, but always stay focused on serving our customers instead of ourselves.” Russ has participated in Habitat for Humanity’s Triangle CEO Build and recently participated in the Rho Smile Train Triathlon in Wake Forest, NC where Rho’s sponsorship helped raise over $27,000 to help children with cleft lip and palate. As a father of four, Russ strives to set a healthy, physically active example for his children. His favorite activities include volunteering, giving back to his community, improving resources for public education, writing, and competing in triathlons.
