Biography
Dr. Farha Masood received her Doctoral degree in the field of Microbiology from Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan and joined COMSATS Islamabad as an Assistant Professor. The areas of her specializations include applied microbiology, biomaterials, nanomedicines/targeted drug delivery and polymer based nano-composites. Dr. Masood is a recipient of PhD Fellowship for her MPhil leading to Doctoral studies, provided by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, under the Indigenous PhD Fellowship Program. Her PhD research revolved around process optimization of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) using bacterial strains and its applications as drug carrier and biodegradable additive in bio-stable polymers. During her PhD, she got expertise in dealing with Microbial metabolite purification, SEM, HPLC, XRD, FTIR, TGA, DSC,  NMR, PCR and cancer cell lines.
