Biography
Management specialist with over 30 years of professional experience in the development and private sectors in areas of Social Policy, Strategy and Management Systems. Mr. Zohair Ashir has multi-sectoral international, regional and national experience in the development sector with concentration of work in Social Protection, Education, Health and in private sector in Banking, Telecommunications, FMCG and Energy. He serves in an advisory capacity with the World Bank, USAID, ADB, State Bank of Pakistan, DFID, JICA, UNDP, UBL, PTCL and others. He has worked in United States, Pakistan and the Middle East. Currently he is a Senior Partner and shareholder in Grant Thornton Consulting and AASA Consulting. Previously was he was employed in senior management roles with Aga Khan University Hospital in Pakistan and Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Company and Baptist Memorial Hospital in USA. Mr. Ashir devotes considerable time as a volunteer to non-government and civil society organizations. He holds a post graduate certification in Hospital Management from University of Minnesota and under-graduate degree from University of Memphis in USA.
