Biography
Dr. Tania Saeed has joined us as Assistant Professor-Tenure Track in the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences - (MGSHSS). Dr. Saeed obtained her DPhil in Education from the University of Oxford, UK and MSc in Gender, Development and Globalization from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2013 and 2006, respectively. She has worked as an Equity and Social Inclusion Advisor for DFID’s Punjab Education Sector Programme (PESP)-II, focusing on planning interventions to improve access to quality education for out of school children belonging to the most marginalized communities in Punjab. She has also worked on education and intolerance as part of a University of Oxford and Centre on Religion and Geopolitics project, studying teacher attitude and biases in government schools in Lahore and on monitoring and evaluating teacher education policy in India (Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar). Dr. Saeed completed her Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from LUMS in 2005. She is an Associate Fellow at the Institute of Development and Economic Alternatives (IDEAS). She has contributed to leading journals and edited volumes, and is the author of the forthcoming book ‘Islamophobia and Securitization. Religion, Ethnicity and the Female Voice’ (Palgrave Macmillan, UK). She has worked with LUMS as Teaching Assistant from 2004 to 2005 and was recently associated as Adjunct Faculty prior to joining as Assistant Professor.
