M. Jawed Akhai is a prominent businessman in the pharmaceutical sector. He belongs to a family engaged in pharmaceutical business for over five decades. Currently he holds the position of Chairman at Martin Dow Ltd. Exhibiting inspiring innovativeness and entrepreneurial skills, Jawed Akhai acquired the pharmaceutical manufacturing plant along with the brands of F. Hoffmann-La Roche (Switzerland) in Pakistan and licensing of some of their top line products, which is one of the largest acquisitions in the pharmaceutical industry of Pakistan. Mr. Jawed is a Business Graduate from Institute of Business Administration (IBA). Besides being the Chairman of Martin Dow, he holds many positions with different associations including Former Chairman of Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturer’s Association (PPMA), associate member of FPCCI Trade Body for Pharma Sector, Director of Pakistan-USA business Council of FPCCI, member of Swiss Business Council, member of Pakistan France Business Alliance, member of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, member of Marketing Association of Pakistan and President of COMMECS (The Old Students Association of Govt. College of Commerce & Economics). At Martin Dow, Jawed is involved in setting the strategic business direction of senior management along with the quest of operational excellence. In addition, Jawed is actively involved in philanthropic activities with the social sector. His main focus is on development of Health & Education segments. v
