Dr. Muhammad Adnan Tariq

Biography

Dr. Adnan Tariq has many years of diversified professional experience within Pakistan and Europe as researcher, software engineer and technical lead both in industrial and academic settings. He has experience of leading research projects in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), mobile and pervasive computing, geo-distributed fog & cloud computing and Software-defined Networking (SDN) with focus on scalability, quality of service (QoS), fault tolerance and security aspects. Formerly Dr. Adnan served as a senior researcher at the Institute of Parallel and Distributed Systems (IPVS) of University of Stuttgart, where he was leading the “Self-Organizing Software Systems” and "Adaptive Communication Systems" project divisions of the Distributed Systems Department. During that time, he also served as the technical manager and coordinator of 2.9 million Euros project "ALLOW Ensembles" funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework program with a consortium of six European research institutes. Dr. Adnan has contributed more than 30 scientific publications at highly selective peer-reviewed venues including IEEE ICDCS, ACM/USENIX Middleware, IEEE SCC, ACM DEBS and IEEE/ACM Transactions.
