Biography

Dr. Mamoona Chaudhry is Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Epidemiology and Public Health, UVAS, Lahore since 2006. She was awarded HEC overseas scholarship (10%) in 2007 to pursue for PhD at University of Edinburgh, UK. She completed her PhD in the subject of Epidemiology and Public Health from The University of Edinburgh Medical School, Division of Infection and Pathway Medicine, UoE, UK under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sue Welburn (Director Global Health Academy), Prof. Dr. Michael Thrusfield (Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies), and Prof. Dr. Mark Eisler (Chair in Global Farm Animal Health, School of Veterinary Sciences, Bristol University, UK). Apart from her postgraduate research, she also served as demonstrator for undergraduate teaching at University of Edinburgh, UK. She has several publications in highly ranked impact factor journals and participated in various international conferences in various countries including UK, South Africa, and USA. During her PhD, she also won various small grant and travel funds from distinguished funding sources. Currently she is supervising MPhil and PhD student and has collaboration with world-renowned scientist and institutions in USA, UK, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand etc. She is member of International Society of Infectious Diseases, One Health Hub, Young EPIZONE and One Health Initiative. She is also member of editorial board of Zagazig Veterinary Journal, Egypt and journal referee for Plos One, JAPS, Journal of Food Science, Vector Borne and Zoonotic Diseases and Frontiers in Microbiology.

Research Interest

Public Health and Epidemiology, specifically epidemiology of infectious diseases, zoonotic diseases, spatial and molecular epidemiology etc.
