Biography
Tianqiao Chen is the founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Shanda Group, a global investment group. Mr. Chen and his family founded Shanda Group in 1999, first as an online game company, with three subsidiaries listed on NASDAQ. The business has since expanded to include private equity, public market, and real estate investments. Mr. Chen has been acknowledged internationally for his business acumen. Some of the awards and accolades he has received include recognition in China Central Television (CCTV) Economic Figures in 2003, receiving the Robert Mundell/World Executive Awards of Achievement in Business and Economy, being named to the MIT Technology Review TR100 in 2004, and being named to the BusinessWeek Asia Star Top 25 in 2005.
Research Interest
Mr. Chen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Fudan University. He also serves on several government boards within China and as a member of the board of directors at Fudan University. Mr. Chen and his wife and business partner, Chrissy Luo, have a personal passion for contributing to society and are actively involved in philanthropic work.
