Mr. Cuarteros completed his undergraduate degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. After working for six years in a non-government organization (NGO) he went for a scholarship at the Institute for Social Studies (ISS), The Hague, The Netherlands where he completed his masters in Development Studies. Right after his master’s degree studies, he returned to work again a non-government organization - (Institute for Popular Democracy) this time doing researches on Philippine democracy and development. His specific research interest are on democracy, local politics and governance, political parties, elections, campaign finance, civil society and social movements. Currently he is involve in the Human Rights and Deepening Democracy advocacy program of the De La Salle Philippines (DLSP) where he heads the Lasallian Justice and Peace Commission Office. He joined the academe in 2007 first at the UP Diliman, and from 2009 to the present at the DLSU Political Science Department.
