Levita A. Duhaylungsod has a Master of Science in Rural Sociology from the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) and obtained her PhD in Anthropology from the University of Queensland in Australia.She has published a co-authored book and book chapters on indigenous peoples and a number of popular and scholarly articles in both local and international journals. She has also served in the editorial board of the Center for World Indigenous Studies, Philippine Agriculturist, and is a resource person and reviewer for development programs and journal publications. In her academic career as an anthropologist, she linked up with local and national NGOs doing advocacy work for indigenous peoples in the Philippines. She is currently an honorary member of the Arts Research and Training Institute in Southern Tagalog, Inc. (ARTIST) and has previously served as Chair of its Board of Trustees.
