Vivian Virata

Biography

Dr. Vivian Virata has been a practicing dentist for 17 years, specializing in periodontics and implant dentistry. She obtained her degree in Dental Medicine from the University of the Philippines – Manila in 1995, and her Master’s of Science in Periodontology from Columbia University, New York in 1999. Growing up in a household with a dentist – one of her parents – was influential in Dr. Vivian’s decision to venture into dentistry. Helping out at dental clinics during the summer and gaining valuable experience made it all the more an appealing career path. Dr. Vivian’s passion lies in restoring smiles from the gum up: “I enjoy treating gums; restoring lost gums and bones, rebuilding the smile and confidence of the patient. The healing of diseased gums based on treatment is so fascinating and rewarding, especially the idea that rebuilding lost gums and bones is possible.” Another way Dr. Vivian contributes to her field is by teaching the next generation of dentists.
