Professor Nj Pyne

Biography

  Nigel has an international standing in the area of cellular signalling in health and disease with a focus on sphingosine 1‐phosphate biology, G‐protein coupled receptors/receptor tyrosine kinases and cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases. Nigel has published over 170 peer‐reviewed papers (H index = 49, ~ 7300 citations). His research reflects world leading outputs that have reported seminal findings, served as reference points for the field and have provided novel directions for basic and translational drug discovery research. He is Editor in Chief of the international research journal, Cellular Signalling. He is also an elected member of the Academy of the Institute of Bologna (Medical Sciences Division) as a Foreign Correspondent Academic. He co‐chaired the Gordon Research Conference on ‘Cyclic Nucleotide Phosphodiesterases’ (Italy, 2008) and 2017 FASEB meeting on ‘Lysophospholipid in Health and Disease (USA)’
