Biography
Mr. Margarito B. Teves has been Independent Director of PETRON CORP. since May 20, 2014 and the Chairman of the Governance Committee of the Company since July 3, 2014. He is likewise an independent director of other listed companies SMC and Atok. He is also the Managing Director of The Wallace Business Forum and Chairman of Think Tank Inc. He was the Secretary of the Department of Finance of the Philippine government from 2005 to 2010, and was previously the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Land Bank of the Philippines from 2000 to 2005, among others. He was awarded as “2009 Finance Minister of Year/Asia” by the London-based The Banker Magazine. He holds a Master of Arts in Development Economics from the Center for Development Economics, Williams College, Massachusetts and is a graduate of the City of London College, with a degree of Higher National Diploma in Business Studies which is equivalent to a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics.
