Mitchel Abaracoso Andrada

Biography

Mitchel Abaracoso Andrada was born August 17, 1985 in Roxas City, Capiz. A Biology graduate, Ms. Andrada started her career as QA Laboratory Analyst in manufacturing processing plant working full-time while doing her Post-Graduate study as Master’s in Biology at the University of the Philippines. She was elected as a Youth Leader and became a government official, serving her fellow youths through educational and sports related activities. She also employed herself by volunteering to a non-government organization. As a Researcher in the university, the project was funded by the Department of Science and Technology. After her postgraduate degree she rendered service at the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources as microbiologist. The same moment she was hired as a QA and Production Supervisor of Alsons Aquaculture Corporation. She then became a consultant for a manufacturing company while teaching English to Japanese as an ESL instructor. Currently, Ms. Andrada is working as analyst statistician at the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority helping the Philippine Fishery industry doing post-harvest facility study through infrastructure projects and work in a construction company as safety officer. She aslo conducts training and seminar on Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practice and Standard Sanitation Operating Practices.

Her main research interests include Fishery Development; Biotechnology; Microbiology; Quality Assurance; Food Safety; Environmental Studies; Aquaculture.
