Biography
Al Powers is a board director at the Natural Products Association, the Council for Responsible Nutrition and the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists. For more than 40 years, Mr. Powers has been a pioneer in the natural products industry, actively involved in health food retailing, defending the rights of consumers to buy natural products, and working with industry trade associations. Mr. Powers is the former CEO of NOW Health Group, Inc. Under his leadership, NOW Foods sustained consistently high growth domestically and internationally and became the number one brand in the health food channel. He continues as a member on several NOW board committees. In 2015, Mr. Powers was inducted into the New Hope Hall of Legends at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Nutrition Business Journal in 2010.
