Biography
Amit Modi is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in New York, with more than eight years of transaction-related experience. He specializes in accounting and financial analysis for both buy-side and sell-side transactions for private equity and corporate buyers. Mr. Modi focuses on determining acquisition targets' quality of earnings and cash flows, assessing working capital requirements, and ensuring the propriety of financing and purchase agreement terms through the analysis of financial data and discussions with target management. He also identifies key performance indicators and trends to determine the sustainability of earnings and the growth potential of acquisition targets. He ensures that acquisition and financing agreements reflect the proper deal structure and coincide with financial due diligence findings. He has also evaluated both investor and management forecast models, performed synergy / cost savings determination analyses and completed carve-out / stand-alone assessments. Before joining A&M, Mr. Modi was a manager with the transaction services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, where he led and participated in more than 40 transactions on deals ranging in value from $100 million to $12 billion in a wide array of industries, including automotive, education, industrial manufacturing, chemicals, pet food, professional services, government contracting, real estate, leasing, hospitality, medical parts, entertainment, media and telecommunications. Additionally, he has diverse experience in leveraged buyouts, divestitures, complex carve-out, bolt-on, and cross-border transactions. Mr. Modi earned a bachelor's degree in accountancy, cum laude, from Pace University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York, and an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
