Biography

Andrea Gonzalez is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Chicago. She is an advisory and consulting services expert, including litigation consulting and financial advisory services to law firms, corporations and individuals. She has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, including consumer products, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, healthcare, medical products, e-commerce, electronics and agriculture. With more than 15 years of litigation and advisory experience, Ms. Gonzalez brings significant experience to clients involved in commercial disputes related to intellectual property, breach of contract, and fraud or embezzlement. She has advised numerous clients on intellectual property matters, including issues involving patent infringement, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation, false advertising and unfair competition. She has assisted clients in post-acquisition disputes, including calculating working capital disputes and breaches of representations and warranties, and matters involving application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).In addition, she has helped clients with internal investigations, and SEC inquiries and investigations. Before joining A&M, Ms. Gonzalez spent two years with Cendrowski Corporate Advisors as a senior manager in their litigation support and valuation practice in Chicago, responsible for leading and managing complex fraud investigations and issues related to intellectual property. Before that, she served as a forensic accountant in the FBI’s Chicago division and was responsible for managing complex financial fraud investigations. Earlier, she was a director at AlixPartners in their financial advisory services practice, focusing on litigation consulting matters – particularly intellectual property disputes. Ms. Gonzalez earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Illinois. She is a member of the Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Illinois CPA Society (ICPA), the American Bar Association, the Licensing Executives Society, the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC). In addition, she is a member of the select ICPA Women’s Initiatives Task Force, the TMA’s Women’s Committee and the TMA’s Membership Committee.
